The Atlantic 10 released its conference pairings yesterday.
The league is enjoying a bit of a renaissance over the last few seasons as several programs are reaping the benefits of NIL. The top half of the league can compete financially with power conference schools, making player (and coach) retention much more feasible.
Last year, Saint Louis and VCU split the regular season title at 15-3. VCU took home the conference tournament championship, earning the league a second team in the NCAA Tournament. Both teams would go on to win their First Round games before getting eliminated in the Round of 32.
Heading into next season, Fordham (!), Saint Louis, and VCU all rank in the top 20 in minutes retention, according to Bart Torvik. St. Bonaventure's Mike MacDonald is the league's lone new coach, replacing Mark Schmidt after a 19-year run in Olean.
Saint Louis and VCU will likely top the league's preseason poll, but as we all know, no one is safe in A10 play.
Tyon Grant-Foster was cleared to play in the NBA by the league's medical panel, according to a report from Jonathan Givony. Grant-Foster had a defibrillator implanted after twice undergoing cardiac arrest before returning to play at Grand Canyon and then Gonzaga.
Notable commitments: Dasonte Bowen (St. Bonaventure) to Penn State | Hugo Lopez (Spain) to South Carolina
