Welcome, fans of the college basketball offseason! This page will be an ongoing repository of write-ups about transfer fits in the 2026 #PortalSZN. For most P5 and higher-level mid-major commitments – and perhaps a few true mid-major ones, as well – we (3MW, likely with some assists from the rest of the BUR crew) will attempt to give a quick-ish data- and scheme-based analysis on how that player fits at his new destination with his new coach. We will be blunt: if we like the fit and think it will work, we will say so, but we will also not give in to calling every commitment a #GoodGet.
For a reference point, here is last season's Google Doc in which we did the same exercise. Feel free to peruse that for both good and bad takes! We ended up hitting over 300 names.

Christian Bliss | 6'4" Point Guard | Delaware ➡️ Stanford
Bliss was probably the highest rated remaining player in the portal in my book, and he landed at Stanford, who is desperate for experienced backcourt scoring at this point. Bliss was an outstanding on-ball scorer last season on a bad Delaware team, posting a 92nd percentile PPP+A, 34% assist rate in CUSA play, and scoring in the 95th percentile on a 99th percentile isolation rate. Bliss was almost entirely a dribble creator offensively, posting just a 1st percentile catch and shoot rate compared to 97th percentile off the dribble (shooting a blistering 40% in that regard). Poor rim finisher for a guard his size, and the 1st percentile high quality shot rate is certainly indicative of his almost entirely iso driven, off the dribble shot diet, and despite Delaware being a horrible team overall, the Hens featured a ton of spacing and shooting around him- so I'm a little less inclined to be forgiving on the shot diet (which is reflected in a poor analytical profile overall). Bliss posted a high steal rate in Delaware's goofy zone, but his defense and physicality overall will be an issue in the ACC. Regardless, Bliss is a high scoring, sharp shooting, facilitating on-ball guard with size, and Stanford's roster was lacking in virtually all of those departments. Great late portal season add by Kyle Smith. - Jordan Majewski
Courtland Muldrew | 6'3" Guard | Washington ➡️ Georgia Tech
Muldrew quietly finished the season strong at Washington when Danny Sprinkle was simply searching for bodies, tallying 23 assists to 7 turnovers with regular playing time in the final month of the season. Muldrew also rebounded his position well, was versatile defensively, and finished at 70% at the rim in that stretch. He's maybe a little buried in Georgia Tech's backcourt, but while it wasn't the case last year due to injuries, Scott Cross typically likes to play a deep rotation with his pressing style defensively, and Muldrew is a very reasonable high upside bench piece in that regard- and it honestly wouldn't surprise me if he's a starter at some point. - Jordan Majewski
