The 2027 high school class had an opportunity to showcase their talents this weekend with the first live period of the summer. Players were spread across the country at EYBL, 3SSB, MADE Hoops, UAA and Pro16.

The 2027 class is widely considered to be weaker in comparison to the 2025 and 2026 classes. That projection along with the increased emphasis on recruiting older players via the transfer portal and international routes should make for some interesting decisions from this group.

Depending on where you look, the No. 1 ranking among the 2027s is very much up for grabs. Some of the top players in the class include: CJ Rosser (Southeastern Prep), King Gibson (Spire Academy), Marcus Spears Jr. (Dynamic Prep), Reese Alston (Second Baptist), Beckham Black (Southeastern Prep), Paul Osaruyi (Bella Vista Prep) and Nasir Anderson (Prolific Prep).

A pair of 2027s made decisions over the weekend with four-star center Isaiah Hill (Pike) committing to Purdue and four-star center Theo Edema (Cushing Academy) committing to St. Johns. Edema opted to reclass to 2026 and will play for the Johnnies this season. Other players reportedly nearing decisions are Jack Kohnen (Slinger) and Kevin Savage (Wheeler).
