It turns out Will Wade is familiar with traditional roster-building methods after all.

The Tigers picked up their third commit of the 2027 class with the addition of five-star point guard Reese Alston. Alston, the son of former NBA veteran Rafer Alston, picked LSU over a final list that included Wichita State, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee.

The 6'3" guard is the No. 9 ranked recruit overall. He averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.7 steals during his high school season, helping his team (Second Baptist School) win its second straight Texas state championship.

Alston joins combo guard King Gibson and forward Ahmad Hudson in LSU's 2027 class.

In other high school recruiting news:

Four-star small forward Jalen White committed to Mississippi State.

Four-star guard Brian Mitchell Jr. committed to Elon.

Four-star guard Jacoby Briscoe committed to UCF.
