Mark Pope landed his highest-rated recruit since taking over in Lexington.
Five-star center Cherif Millogo announced his commitment to Kentucky on Wednesday. The 7'5" center picked the Wildcats over BYU and USC.
Millogo is a high-upside prospect and not just because of his size.
247Sports' Adam Finkelstein says: Millogo is not just a big body, though. There is an overlap of complimenting physical tools and basketball skills that make him a truly unique prospect at his size, even if he's still in the early stages of being able to reliable put them all together for sustained stretches.
He has soft natural touch that already extends out to the arc, the hands and feet to develop a post-game, and shows a passing instinct in high-low type actions.
He's also surprisingly mobile for a human being of his size. He runs and jumps without problem, is building up his body and already willing to seek out contact.
Millogo joins Ryan Hampton in Kentucky's 2027 class. They're also in the mix for a handful of other top prospects, including AJ Williams who visits Lexington this weekend.
