Jon Rothstein's famous line "We Sleep in May" is more dream than reality for most college basketball staffs these days.
While teams like Iowa State and Indiana were in and out of the portal in one weekend, several others are still looking to fill key roles on their rosters. LSU, for example, only has one player publicly committed. Luckily for the folks in Baton Rouge, sources tell Basket Under Review the Tigers have a handful of unannounced commitments on board. Elsewhere, Arkansas and Villanova are still searching for a starting center, while teams like Seton Hall and Texas Tech have plenty of open spots.
With portal talent thinning out, many staffs are searching for players overseas. Duke just added 16-year-old center Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, who is currently playing for FC Barcelona's youth team. Fellow blue-blood coaches Mark Pope and Michael Malone spent the week in Europe looking to bolster their rosters with international prospects. The void of high-end players has forced many teams to get creative this spring.
The NCAA distributed a chart to schools outlining their plan to implement the upcoming 5-in-5 eligibility proposal. The main sticking point - this year's graduating seniors will not be eligible next season.
Yahoo's Ross Dellenger has the details below.

Amazon and Duke announced a trio of games set to appear on Prime Video this season. The matchups include:
- Duke vs. UConn on November 25 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
- Duke vs. Michigan on December 21 at Madison Square Garden in New York
- Duke vs. Gonzaga on February 20 at Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit
It's a first-of-it's-kind partnership that will include millions of dollars in NIL payouts to Duke players. Opposing teams are also set to make north of $500k for participating in the games.
Notable commitments: Josiah Parker (Florida Atlantic) to Georgetown | Rodney Brown Jr. (Loyola Marymount) to Seton Hall | James Scott (Ole Miss) to Georgia | Johan Munch (Oregon State) to SMU | Damon Wilkinson (South Dakota State) to Nebraska | David Douglas Jr. (Fresno State) to Northern Illinois | Davion Hannah (Alabama) to South Carolina | ND Okafor (previously committed to Ole Miss) to Mississippi State | Dwayne Aristode (Arizona) to Oregon | Jason Drake (Indiana) to Temple
