The NCAA Division I Cabinet unanimously approved the eligibility proposal known as 5-in-5 on Tuesday. The new rule permits student-athletes up to five years of eligibility if they enroll in college no later than the academic year after their 19th birthday.

The NCAA reiterated that student-athletes who graduated after this season are not granted an additional year of eligibility. To no one's surprise, lawsuits have already been drafted for at least 55 players whose eligibility has expired. Should those lawsuits succeed, several teams that have struck out in the portal will have a second chance to make a late addition.
NBA Draft First Round
The first round of the 2026 NBA Draft is in the books, and there weren't many surprises at the top of the board.
AJ Dybantsa (BYU) was taken first overall by the Washington Wizards. He's the first player to lead the NCAA in scoring and go first in the NBA Draft since 1994. He's also the first player in BYU history to go No. 1.
Darryn Peterson (Kansas) went second to the Utah Jazz, and Cameron Boozer (Duke) was picked third by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Caleb Wilson was picked fourth by the Chicago Bulls, becoming the first North Carolina Tar Heel to get drafted in the top five since 2005 (Marvin Williams & Raymond Felton).
Keaton Wagler's (Illinois) incredible story continues, with the previously unranked recruit going fifth to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Michigan's entire frontcourt was selected between picks 9-12. The Wolverines are the first title-winning team to have three first-round draft picks since the 2018 Villanova Wildcats.

Duke's Isaiah Evans, North Carolina's Henri Veesaar, and Arkansas' Meleek Thomas are all still on the board after forgoing their college eligibility to enter the draft.
