As we turn the calendar to June, the top-ranked player left in the transfer portal is still undecided as of posting.

The college basketball world was expecting a commitment from Iowa State transfer Milan Momcilovic over the weekend, but no such news hit the wire. The 6'8" forward is still reportedly deciding between Arizona, Kentucky, and Louisville, and a commitment could come at any moment.

Arizona entered the equation after it became clear they'd lose Koa Peat to the NBA Draft. Tommy Lloyd's offense took the second fewest three-pointers in the country last season (by design), but adding Momcilovic would give them some versatility with a legitimate shooting option on the perimeter.

Kentucky and Louisville both run prolific three-point shooting offenses that would benefit greatly from a consistent threat like Momcilovic. For Kentucky, the PR win is almost as important as the on-court impact, as Wildcats fans have expressed concern this offseason about the state of recruiting from their proud program. Juxtaposed with Kentucky's struggles are Louisville's early splash commitments from Flory Bidunga and Jackson Shelstad. The Cardinals would likely enter the season as a top-10 team nationally with a pledge from Momcilovic.

Hopefully, we're writing about this topic again tomorrow in the context of a decision.

The only other major news to come from the weekend was Alex Samodurov's commitment to North Carolina. Samodurov is a floor-spacing big man who can also anchor the defense with his shot-blocking abilities. He most recently played in the EuroLeague for Panathinaikos, the same club his new teammate Neoklis Avdalas played for.

Finally, we want to give college baseball its flowers for an incredible opening weekend of its NCAA Tournament. There was drama, there were upsets, and it was a great reminder of college sports' ability to captivate people.

It was also a great reminder that we need ESPN to produce a college basketball version of Squeeze Play - a baseball whip-around show with live look-ins to games around the country.

How Money Shapes Roster Building in the Transfer Portal Era
Many of my deep dive articles start with me being wrong or off-base about something, and this one is no different. Xavier’s addition of Mike Nwoko on April 8 was one of the very first Power Conference adds of the transfer portal cycle, and my initial reaction was far from
Revisionist History: Re-Seeding Every NCAA Tournament Since 2011 Using WAB
My general theory surrounding a crowd’s reaction to a New Thing: generally speaking, there will always be haters. I will stand steadfast in my hate of a 76-team Tournament no matter how intelligently John Gasaway may make a case for it. New hot band the hollowed husk of 2026 Pitchfork
