We've got our first bit of coaching carousel news for the 2026-2027 season.

Nevada head coach Steve Alford is retiring following the conclusion of this season, the school announced Thursday.

"After 36 years, I feel like this is the right time to step away from the bench," Alford said. "Tanya and I have loved our time in Reno, and have embraced this amazing community and built lifelong friendships. I want to thank the University of Nevada for the opportunity to lead this program, and I am looking forward to finishing this season the right way, with a team I believe in. God has richly blessed our family in so many ways through basketball and we are very grateful. I'm excited to see God's direction in the next chapter."
