A pair of ACC schools landed highly rated recruits on Thursday.
First, Duke continues to build on its Australian pipeline with the addition of 2027 point guard Luke Paul.
The 6'6" projected lottery pick averaged 15.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, while shooting 55.6% from three-point range in the FIBA U17 World Cup. He helped lead the Australian National Team to a bronze medal and was named to the tournament's All-Star Five alongside his future teammate Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje.
With Paul's commitment to the Blue Devils, it's increasingly unlikely that Beckham Black, the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2027, takes his talents to Durham next season.
The other major commitment of the day came from the son of Hakeem Olajuwon.
Malik Olajuwon, a top-60 recruit in the class, committed to SMU. He picked the Mustangs over Minnesota, Virginia Tech, TCU and others.
On the EYBL circuit this summer, he averaged 12.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game for JL3.
Olajuwon is the first commit of the 2027 class for Andy Enfield.
