The college basketball season is underway!
First, a massive shoutout to The Field of 68 for a successful 24-hour Opening Day Marathon. There were great games all day long, and it's only fitting that the best one happened at 3 AM.
There were plenty of notable scores throughout the rest of the slate.
Florida used a barrage of threes to build a 10-point halftime lead and never looked back against in-state rival Miami.

Tommy Haugh finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Gators, while Rueben Chinyelu controlled the glass with 14 rebounds of his own. Acaden Lewis had 24 points for Miami.
Memphis notched the first ranked-opponent upset of the season with an 80-76 win over Iowa State.
Jayden Reid was fantastic for the Tigers, putting up 26 points on 6-for-11 shooting. Luke Almodovar added 18 points and 8 rebounds. Ryan Prather Jr. led Iowa State with 19 points.

Last year it took 96 games for an unranked team to knock off a ranked team. This year, it only took 7.
The most shocking result of the day was East Texas A&M's upset of Oklahoma.
The Lions held Oklahoma to 5-for-20 shooting from three and benefited from 15 missed free throws. They led by as many as 16 in the second half and held off a furious run to win, 68-64. It's the school's first-ever win over a power conference program.

Porter Moser was already on the hot seat coming into the season, and this result only magnifies the pressure.
Miami (OH)'s regular season win streak continues with their MAC-SBC Challenge victory over James Madison.
Davis Fogle had 22 points to help Gonzaga pull away late from Purdue.
Dior Johnson had a wildly efficient 41 points (13-15 FG, 4-4 3P, 11-15 FT) in UCF's 96-95 win over FGCU.
BYU scored 60 points in the second half to knock off Ohio State. Rob Wright III had 33 points.
Ivan Kharchenkov had 38 points, but it wasn't enough as UCLA knocked off Arizona, 84-75. Trent Perry had 21 points and 5 assists for the Bruins.

Missouri announced Jaylen Carey is suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. The team will also be without CJ Gunn, who was ruled ineligible by the SEC.
UConn landed a commitment from French center Keny Vado.
Louisville’s De’Shayne Montgomery is expected to be out 4-6 weeks with a foot injury, per release.
