All eyes were on the Commonwealth of Kentucky this weekend, with the 152nd Kentucky Derby in Churchill Downs and the latest five-star prospect committing to Louisville.
The top center in the class of 2027, Obinna Ekezie Jr., chose the Cardinals over Arkansas, BYU, Kentucky and Maryland on Sunday. He will reclassify to 2026 and join a Louisville roster that includes the No. 1 ranked transfer class at EvanMiya.com.

Pat Kelsey's squad is still thin on the wings, but the backcourt and frontcourt combinations should make them a lock for a preseason top-10 ranking. It's an important third year for Kelsey and the Cardinals as they figure to be one of the top spending teams in the country next season. They're looking to make the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
West Virginia also had a nice weekend with the additions of Utah transfer Seydou Traore and St. John's transfer Joson Sanon. The Mountaineers' roster is nearly complete after making some early splashes with Butler transfer Finley Bizjack and Georgia Tech transfer Mouhamed Sylla.

Ross Hodge has a legitimate NCAA Tournament caliber roster as he looks to continue the program's momentum after winning The Crown last month. The last team to win The Crown tournament started the following season 20-0, just saying.
Bart Torvik released his way too early 2027 projections over the weekend. You can check out the top 20 below and the entire list here.

Other notable weekend commitments: Sheek Pearson (Marquette) to Saint Louis | Kennard Davis Jr. (BYU) to Missouri | Christian Moore (Citadel) to Butler | Ring Nyeri (Northern Colorado) to Wake Forest | Jacob Theodosiou (Loyola MD) to Duke | Brent Bland (St. Peter's) and Nick Dorn (Indiana) to Miami (FL) | Malachi Palmer (Villanova) to Minnesota
