College basketball is back! Sort of.
The first exhibition game of the 2026-2027 season took place at Assembly Hall last night, as Indiana beat Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf (Canada), 98-64. The Hoosiers donned Team USA jerseys as the American representatives in the upcoming FISU America Games in Lima, Peru.
Aiden Sherrell led the way in his Indiana debut, scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds in 25 minutes of action.

Freshman guard Prince Alexander-Moody had 13 points and five steals, while Bryce Lindsay, Darren Harris and Markus Burton each had 11 points. Georgia Tech transfer Jaeden Mustaf did not play due to a lower-body injury.

It's hard to take much away from an exhibition game in the middle of July, but it's clear Indiana has upgraded its talent across the board in year two of the Darian DeVries era. The Hoosiers are looking to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023 and their first Sweet 16 since 2016.
