Florida head coach Todd Golden signed a new six-year contract with the school, according to multiple reports.

According to 247Sports, the deal is worth $49.5 million, paying Golden $7.5 million starting with the 2026-27 season, increasing by $300,000 each year. Golden is set to be paid $9 million in the final year of the deal.

As with most contracts, the buyout is the most important part. If Golden leaves for another college program, he would owe the school $16 million through March 31, 2027. If he leaves for the NBA, however, the number is only $3 million.

The buyout is also tied to Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin. If Stricklin is no longer the AD, it will only cost Golden $5 million to leave for another college. The buyout drops to zero if he leaves for the NBA.

Golden was rumored to be in the mix for a handful of NBA opportunities this summer, most notably with the Golden State Warriors. The chance to jump never materialized, though, as Steve Kerr opted to sign a two-year deal to stay with the franchise. Golden will likely be rumored for NBA jobs every cycle for the next few years.
