Wednesday was an intriguing day in women's college basketball as a familiar face popped up on the South Dakota State roster online. Brooklyn Meyer, the 2025-26 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year, 2025-26 AP Honorable Mention All-American, and 2023-24 Summit League Player of the Year, was added to the SDSU roster.

Meyer had played on the Jackrabbits volleyball team in the fall but was removed from the roster in early October, sparking some interest in why that could be. We got our answer, as Meyer will be playing another season of basketball, and she suited up tonight in their exhibition game.

Speaking of exhibition games, there were 32 throughout the night and many of them were extremely interesting. None more so than the UC Santa Barbara and Stanford exhibition. UC Santa Barbara came away with a 65-56 road win over the Cardinal at Maples Arena. Zoe Borter had 22 points for UC Santa Barbara, while Hailee Swain led all scorers with 23 points. This is a great exhibition result for the Gauchos and a not-so-great result for Stanford as they look to flip the script from last season.

Speaking of some exhibition games:

Michigan State 100, Michigan Tech 53: Freshman Monique Bobongie scored 21 in her debut, and senior transfer Carter McCray added 20 points.

Indiana 87, Marian 39: IU was down eight in the second quarter, then closed on a 73-19 run. Iowa State transfer Kenzie Hare scored 18, all on 6-of-10 from three, with eight assists. Marian is the reigning NAIA champ.

Houston 91, Eastern New Mexico 32: Kaelyn Hamilton scored 18, and Elodie Lutbert had a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double with four blocks.
