Despite an unceremonious welcome, Flory Bidunga got the last laugh in his return to Allen Fieldhouse.
The former Kansas Jayhawk got into foul trouble early and managed only five points and three rebounds, but Louisville held on for an 89-83 win.
Jackson Shelstad was the star of the show for the Cardinals, putting up 23 points and four rebounds. Freshman Obinna Ekezie Jr. was equally impressive in his collegiate debut, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds off the bench.
Kansas was led by recently eligible returners Tre White and Melvin Council Jr. The duo combined for 45 points and were the focal point of the offense most of the night.
