UConn general manager and longtime assistant coach Tom Moore is retiring, the school announced Thursday.
"It has been an honor to spend my entire professional life coaching college basketball," Moore said. "I'd like to thank all the players I've coached and all the men I've shared the sideline with. Every one of you hold a special place in my heart. My family has made tremendous sacrifices to support my career and I could not have done this without them. Sincere thanks to Coach Calhoun and Coach Hurley for believing in me at the beginning and conclusion of my coaching career. To work alongside two of the greatest coaches in college basketball history was a blessing I could have never imagined when I began this journey. UConn Nation, I am forever grateful to have been a small part of the Basketball Capital of the World for two decades."
Moore spent 21 seasons at UConn, winning four national championships with the program. He coached for 39 seasons overall and won 162 over 10 seasons as the head coach at Quinnipiac.
"I can't thank Tom enough for his dedication to the Connecticut basketball program through the years," head coach Dan Hurley said. "He has been a loyal and trusted assistant to me for the last decade and is a true UConn man.
As for his replacement, sources tell Basket Under Review the Huskies are expected to interview several G-League candidates and at least one former ACC general manager.
Brown is hiring Stanford associate head coach Eric Reveno as its next head coach, per multiple reports.
Reveno was previously the head coach at Portland from 2006-2016, where he went 140-178 and had two 20-win seasons.
He is now the fourth Ivy League head coach to have worked under Kyle Smith.
