Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars are on the board in the 2027 class, landing a commitment from four-star guard Oneal Delancy.
The 6'3" point guard from Montverde Academy is ranked 43rd overall and chose the Cougars over Florida, Florida State, Maryland, and Ohio State.
From ESPN's Paul Biancardi:
Delancy plays the game with the same focus and intensity at both ends of the court, which is a separator. He is a solid three-point shooter and a high-level free-throw shooter (86%) who is a smart decision-maker rather than a risk-taker.
He likes the challenge of defending the opposing team’s best perimeter player. Delancy impacts winning, embraces his role, and is committed to defense. An ideal fit for Kelvin Sampson.
Houston is looking to maintain momentum on the recruiting trail after sending freshmen Kingston Flemings and Chric Cenac Jr. to the NBA last season.
