Another major 5-in-5 portal domino fell on Thursday, with Michigan State transfer Jaxon Kohler committing to BYU.

Kohler had been linked to the Cougars for some time now, but finally made it official, giving Kevin Young the frontcourt presence he's been looking for. Kohler averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds for Michigan State last season and played Summer League minutes with the Utah Jazz.

The Utah native recently gained eligibility and the ability to transfer through the California lawsuit. Should he be able to play, he joins a BYU squad that features a strong backcourt trio of Rob Wright, Collin Chandler and Bruce Branch.

In other eligibility news, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey filed an affidavit in a Louisiana court asking a judge to uphold NCAA rules that prevent athletes who signed professional contracts from returning to college. The filing is in response to a lawsuit brought by LSU signee and former NBA G-Leaguer RJ Luis.
