Sometimes the best gets are the ones you already have. Such is the case for NC State and Ohio, with both programs receiving some great news over the weekend.

In Raleigh, new Wolfpack head coach Justin Gainey was able to secure a commitment from Ven-Allen Lubin, who will return to NC State for a second season. Lubin averaged 13.6 points and 7.1 rebounds playing for Will Wade last season. He joins a frontcourt that also includes UC Irvine transfer Kyle Evans and Washington State transfer Eemeli Yalaho.

In Athens, Jackson Paveletzke announced he is returning for a fifth season. Paveletzke averaged 17.3 points per game and shot 47% from the field last season, on his way to All-MAC Second Team honors. He rejoins senior Javan Simmons, giving the Bobcats one of the best mid-major backcourts in the country. Jeff Boals has a squad good enough to contend for the MAC title and return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021.

It's a big week for other 5-in-5 athletes, as the 10th Circuit Court is expected to rule on the NCAA's case in the coming days.
