Thursday was a lighter slate of games, but there were a ton of storylines to pull out from the action of the day. There were no wins, no losses, and no performances as important as what went down in the Virginia at Davidson game, however.

Davidson's Sylvie Jackson missed most of last season as she battled Hodgkin's lymphoma. She beat it, and on Thursday night, she checked into a basketball game for Davidson. These are the things that are more important than the wins and losses. Welcome back, Sylvie!

#5 Michigan knocked off #2 UConn, 77-66, in the first top-five women’s game ever played at Crisler Center. The Huskies led 21-17 after one quarter, but Sarah Strong picked up her third foul and sat the entire second, and Michigan took a 35-29 lead into halftime. UConn went back in front 57-55 early in the fourth before Te’Yala Delfosse hit back-to-back threes to spark the run that decided the game.

Freshman Jovana Popović led UConn with 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals, and Strong finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Michigan was 9-of-20 from behind the arc and earned the highest-ranked win in program history.

Xavier picked up a big road win over a Big Ten opponent, beating Northwestern 91-78. The Wildcats led 23-15 after one quarter, but the Musketeers outscored them in each of the final three, including 26-18 in the fourth. Lucile Jerome scored 22 points and hit three 3-pointers, while Meri Kanerva also had 22 to go with eight assists. Kanerva was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and made 10 of her 13 free throws. Kejia Ran added 17 points and seven rebounds as Xavier shot 62% from the field. Lily Carmody led Northwestern with 20 points.

Kiyomi McMiller scored a career-high 42 points in Florida’s 95-65 win over UCF. She was 14-of-25 from the field and 7-of-10 from three, while adding six rebounds and four steals. Her 42 points are the fourth-most in Florida history, and her seven threes are tied for the third-most in a single game. After scoring 31 in the opener, McMiller also became just the fifth Gator to post back-to-back 30-point games.
