The United States Senate has passed the Protect College Sports Act.

With a decisive 77-vote majority, the bill now moves to the House of Representatives, where nothing significant is likely to happen until after midterm elections in November.

Before the bill passed, an amendment was approved to raise the power conference cap from 19 schools to 20.
