Ohio's Governor added a new wrinkle to the ongoing 5-in-5 saga on Tuesday.
Mike DeWine issued an executive order allowing Ohio colleges and universities to roster and play fifth-year players despite the NCAA's 5-in-5 rule.
The unprecedented move comes the same day the NCAA was in court in Colorado for a hearing in the Wisne case. Legal experts say it didn't go well for the athletes and their lawyers.
The NCAA wasted no time releasing a statement responding to the order.
No one can predict what comes next in this saga, but we do know one thing: billable hours remain undefeated this offseason.
On the court, we had a handful of exhibition games last night!
UConn took down Syracuse, 72-52, without Braylon Mullins. Najai Hines came off the bench, but logged a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes for the Huskies. Nik Khamenia added 12 points and eight rebounds in his UConn debut. Sadiq White had 17 points and was the only Syracuse player in double figures. Luke Wilson added eight points and nine rebounds for the Orange.
Arizona dominated San Francisco. 93-69. Mo Krivas was extremely efficient, scoring 20 points on 6-7 shooting (8-10 FT). Caleb Holt filled the stat sheet in his Arizona debut with 17 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Bryce James started for the Wildcats but played only 13 minutes. Dylan Bordon led San Francisco with 22 points.
Samford 71 - Alabama A&M 61: Will Shaver (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Ty Davis (12 points, 11 rebounds) each had a double-double for Samford. Cooper Noard added 15 points. Bilal-Abdur-Rahman led Alabama A&M with 15 points.
